We went to the concert. Sharon Little was great. I loved the band. They did some interesting things with percussion on the fist song, “Follow That Sound.” The entire set was:
“Follow That Sound”
“Set You Free” (nice guitar solo)
“Child in a Storm”
“Ooh Wee”
“What Gets in the Way” (my favorite)
“Spaceship”
“Try”

The drive and the price would have been worth it for this alone.

There were all of the sound issues that bug me – istruments too loud, sound muffled, lyrics incomprehensible (I jotted down snippets of the lyrics and searched out the songs on-line). It was especially bad with the main attraction except for the more acoustic numbers and Alison’s a cappella song “Down to The River to Pray,” which was incredible. I don’t know if T-Bone Burnett performs at all the concerts, but he did two solo numbers (“Bon Temps Rouler” and “Shut it Tight”). I liked his voice very much. Robert Plant was good too – and there were lots of Led Zeppelin t-shirts in the crowd.

Krauss seems to be teaming up with several people.
She just did a new single with John Mellencamp. Kind of a Everly Brothers
sound to it.

Thanks, AH. (LOL) I have a chance to see Sharon this Saturday, appearing nearby with Robert Plant and Alison Kraus. Trouble is, I’ve been dealing with a pinched nerve that makes sitting down for very long a challenge, especially riding in the car. But I have a commitment from someone who wants to go and is willing to hang it on a last-minute decision, and will drive. Now if I could just stand up in the car – too bad, no sunroof. I’m excited about RP/AK, too. Never heard Alison’a voice until recently on this YouTube clip:

Here’s RP and AK – very nice, also.

Finally have time to listen when fully awake and without being interrupted.
Agree with Karen - have always ben somewhat resistant to female voices but you seem to find ones that resonate with me.
Like her quite a bit and also much prefer the live versions - but then I almost always do for any artist. Am especially drawn to What Gets In The Way.

Psssst Karen - I haven't been able to make it work either - try this one

Well, then, let’s end on a high note. Enjoyed the review very much. Love the idea of the chance meeting at a coffee shop – a simple twist of fate, eh? Thanks, again, Shouter.

Once again, they're all still working for me. No more reason to comment on it I think.
