the shit hits the fans
I loved the Replacements even though their performance “style” could leave much to be desired. Some nights they were great and could connect to the yearning sadness of youth on one song and the pent up energy that needs an outlet seconds later. Others they sucked. They were just like me - that’s all I ever wanted as a fan of music when it could break my heart.
“Kiss Me On The Bus”
“On The Bus” again
Swinging Party sing along? OK I guess.
Hey, Whiskeytown! You owe us one.
My favorite song for three months or so.

This post lovingly named after an early cherished bootleg tape. “Saturday Night Special”, “Iron Man”, “Taking Care Of Business” and “Radio Free Europe” - some of which are even intelligible. I once saw the ‘Mats open for REM and yes, they did two REM songs for an encore - priceless.
What’s that you ask? You’d like to see plenty of early punk Replacements videos? Here you go!

If the ‘Achin’ To Be’ song/video isn’t close to perfect, I don’t know what is. It’s new to me.
