I”m trying to parse the wonderfulness of this clip from the Antonioni movie “Blow Up” featuring the Yardbirds but I just don’t have it yet. Jimmy Page plays on while Jeff Beck destroys his guitar. The mods are zoned out on something(!?!) until the guitar hits the fans and then - HAVOC!

WTF? I can’t recall the specifics enough to contextualize what this was all supposed to represent. Alternate reality?

As I recall, “Blow Up” is about the hedonistic lifestyle of a photographer and how disenchanted he is with everything until he gets caught up in a mystery. The scenes in the park are breathtaking. The sound of the wind-tossed trees and the cinematography are so good that you feel as if you are there in the park.

Never having seen the movie and having no real clue, I’ll do my usual and just make something up based on personal bias: the music is irrelevant, it’s getting a trophy that counts.

Screw the movie. That is one hot song. Want to know my favorite version? I knew that you would. http://youtube.com/watch?v=CWnSFxRAQPE
